In May 2009, Healthy Child Uganda represented Mbarara University of Science and Technology at the Third Annual East Africa Universities Exhibition in Kampala, Uganda. The theme for this year's event was " Universities and Outreach Services for Communities". Healthy Child Uganda took second prize in the event which was attended by 31 East African Universities.
