CORPs exchanges allow CORPs from different areas to visit each other and learn about local health practices and community solutions to common proplems such as energy efficient stoves.  This is  a great motivator for these volunteers, many of whom have never left their parish.

CORPs, facilitators and HC staff regularly conduct home visits to assess and refer sick children and pregnant mothers, to monitor bed net use and to provide health education.

HCU aims to address gender in its programming and encourages the enrollment of male CORPs (currently one in 3 CORPS are male) by instituting support for micro projects, holding contests (activities that traditionally interest males) and training both male and female trainers and facilitators.
